Verena Braun is an Artist, Singer, and Musician who lives and works in Hamburg. She loves to draw, paint, and create video performances. A graduate from the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg in illustration, she also spent one year at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs in Strasbourg where she became involved in drawing Comics with people she met there. As she liked the performative way stories develop in sequential narration, she continued with it for several years which resulted in her 132 page graphic novel : Adamstown, made into a feature film three years later (www.adamstownfilm.de). Passionate about Music, Verena performs on stage with her swing band, Braun’s Chocolate. She loves to combine music and images as she did in her graphic novel “Adamstown” which is accompanied by a soundtrack she herself created for it.

Verena Braun lebt und arbeitet in Hamburg, sie malt, zeichnet und macht Videoperformances. Sie schloss ihr Studium der Illustration an der Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften Hamburg (HAW) ab und verbrachte ein Jahr an der École des Arts Décoratifs in Straßburg. Im Studium lernte sie sehr bald Leute kennen, die sie zum Zeichnen von Comics brachten, und da ihr gefiel, wie einzelne Bilder zu einer performativen Erzählung werden, blieb sie mehrere Jahre dabei. Dies kumulierte sich in ihrem 132 Seiten starken Graphic Novel „Adamstown“, die 3 Jahre nach ihrem Erscheinen sogar zu einem Spielfilm wurde (www.adamstownfilm.de).

Sie hat eine starke Liebe zur Musik, insbesondere zum Jazz, und steht mit ihrer Swing-Band „Braun’s Chocolate“ auf der Bühne. Sie hat SPaß daran, Musik und Bilder zu kombinieren, wie bei ihrer Graphic Novel „Adamstown“, die über einen Soundtrack aus selbst geschriebenen Liedern zum Download verfügt.
